A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Dr. Thorne completed his undergraduate degree at Mississippi State University. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in cardiology.
Board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases, Dr. Thorne has participated in numerous medical missions trips including work in Africa, Mexico, Peru, and Honduras.
He and his wife, Mary Beth, have four children: Anna Beth, Joshua, Luke, and Linley.
